My agent is shopping two for me now. 2 more are in process. 4 or 5 first drafts are waiting for me to come back to them. The more material you have, the better, because with every book, your skills get better, too. If book 2 sells well for the publisher, book 1 sales (which you're not sharing costs on) so it's win/win for you.

Keep writing!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35623128.post-46475706104980674682014-05-27T17:58:57.965-04:002014-05-27T17:58:57.965-04:00Reviews on books are important, but many authors i...Reviews on books are important, but many authors ignore their query letters. Query letters are very important, authors do not realize their impact on the people they sending to. The most common mistake novelist make when they are writing their query letters is that novelists often give away too much. Novelists should only give the highlights and definitely what the core concept of the book is, but you don't have to give a synopsis of every single chapter.Anita Diggshttp://bit.ly/adeditornoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35623128.post-75146968252397369982014-04-14T15:21:33.102-04:002014-04-14T15:21:33.102-04:00Ghost Blog Patrol #33758 reporting-no life or acti...Ghost Blog Patrol #33758 reporting-no life or activity in this sector; transmission ends; solid gone and out....C. The book is entitled Mason Davis and the Rise of the Storm Makers. It is similar to Percy Jackson and is currently available on Amazon. We are just getting started on this route so it is good to see what could happen down the road with a little luck and a whole lot of work. For example, years ago when I wrote a middle grade book with a fairy subplot, after it was done, numerous agents posted how they didn't want to see any more fairy stories. Then I saw a post from a mother looking for a fairy book suggestion on a bulletin board and all people could come up with were "edgy" fairy stories. It was really kind of sad.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35623128.post-17733063310221400102012-07-20T01:46:56.196-04:002012-07-20T01:46:56.196-04:00Just wanted to say hi and nice to see you back on ...Just wanted to say hi and nice to see you back on the blog!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35623128.post-25067014430413550962012-07-19T21:23:22.854-04:002012-07-19T21:23:22.854-04:00Thanks for the response. I definitely don't have 3k sales, but I do have 82 5-star reviews, nothing below that other than 2 1-stars from.. well.. a-holes, but that's beside the point. So the amount of great reviews do legitimately count for something?
I'm still so confused on what to do. No, I don't have the sales- but yes, I have an AMAZING amount of positive feedback, and I have not cannibalized my market.
I know that my personal feeling that my book could be huge with broader marketing (it's just been little ol' me thus far) means nothing to a publisher- but am I really counted out solely based on sales alone?Holdin' Holdenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14701050468419244513noreply@blogger.com
