Once again, Rejector is embarking on the insanity known as National Novel Writing Month. For that reason, I may get a little behind on answering questions, or may miss a question that's embedded in an anonymous post. If you really want me to answer, email me.
Now, back to work.
Okay, I'll bite. When you write a query letter and leave the typos & other errors out, what are you basically looking for beyond the hook?
Good writing. Maybe some publishing credits. That's it.

Me too! WOO HOO!
Get used to it, Rejecter. Have you visited Rachel Vater's blog lately? From what she wrote, I'd say it only gets crazier from here.
I'm glad to hear you'll be suffering with us!
Now I need to back away from the blogs and go write. The first day will be over soon. Ack.
I'm there, too--look me up as Chocobo Goddess if you're interested. :D
I love November. :D
Me too! I'm on the forums as HalSpacejock.
I've seen a few people dissing Nano for concentrating on output rather than quality. Pshaw. So what if you write 50000 words and only 10000 are useable? Does everyone believe every single keystroke is a perfect fit in a novel?
Write and write some more. In December, when the dust settles, you can stop to pull the weeds.
G'luck! You're not alone, even amongst your readers.
You're NEVER alone... mwahaha.
Yea, Halloween spirit needs to die now, and I need to stop letting Nano steal all my sleep.
Good luck to you! I'm sitting out this year... but it's a lot of fun.
