Amazon breaks its own bank

I've been very busy with last-minute edits for my third book, so I haven't had a lot of time to post. But here's this, which I found amusing.

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

Maybe their discounts are getting a little too deep.

Finally--a Harlequin sold for what it's actually worth! ;)

That book was actually offered on Harlequin's site for free in an effort to get people to buy more of their e-books, along with about a dozen others. Is promotional.

And I thought the 0.01c book I just got from Amazon was good. I feel like I got ripped off... by 1c...

The $0.01 thing is deceptive, because you pay $3.99 in shipping. It's still a four-dollar book, but still. Amazon makes a commission off that sale based on the price after shipping, which is why they're willing to sell used books at $0.01.

This is part of Harlequin's 60 year anniversary promotion. There are lots of free HQ's running around right now.

And for what it's worth, I've downloaded several to my iPhone and am discovering that, as with any genre, some don't work for me and others are really, really excellent. I'm enjoying the free books and having my reading horizon's expanded.

LOL! Now that's what I like to see! Nothing's cheaper than free.

Pretty steep discount, but a lot of book clubs will have free promo books. My mom gets them all the time form Steeple Hill.

Actually I'm in Australia, so with all the postage it ended up being about $18 Aus. Bahaha! For a 1c book! But it was something I really needed and I would have paid triple that to get it. I'm reading it now and it was well worth it!

They've been doing a number of promotional free Kindle books over the last several months. Great way to get you hooked on a series writer!

A lot of publishers are offering some of their books for free to promote Read an E-book week. There are a bunch of different ones you can find for free.

There's a catch: You have to read it.
