Introduction

I work for a literary agency. My job is to answer the query letters and I reject about 95% of them. The rest go in the "maybe" pile that the boss actually sees. On this blog I'll be posting advice on how to get yourself into the "maybe" pile. Beyond that, your writing has to stand on its own.

You can email me questions about query letters and other submissions.

DON'T ask to me to review your query letter. I do that for a living, not in my spare time.

What a great idea this is! I've often wondered about 'you guys'. Please post some information about your greatest turn-offs, and perhaps a bit about the kind of writing that inspires you to take a closer look.

Hello Rejecter.

I popped over here when Madame Snark mentioned you in her blog. I think you've got some interesting posts so far and I'm looking forward to reading more of your insight.

Cheers!
